Frost Advisory overnight; wet weather returning late Wednesday

Partly cloudy overnight with a low temperature reaching the lower to mid 30’s. Light winds around 5-10 mph. The National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for portions of the Snake River Plain.

FROST ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 9 AM MDT WEDNESDAY:

  • WHAT…Temperatures as low as 33 degrees will result in frost formation.
  • WHERE…Eastern Magic Valley, Shoshone/Lava Beds, Lower Snake River Plain, and Upper Snake River Plain.
  • WHEN…From 3 AM to 9 AM MDT Wednesday.
  • IMPACTS…Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.

Throughout our Wednesday, more clouds will roll in as low pressure moves out of the north. Look for isolated showers after 4pm. Temperatures will be slightly warmer with a high near 66°. Winds will be out of the southwest around 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Moving into late Wednesday night, we’ll see more scattered rain with some mountain snow. Low temperatures in the Snake River Plain will drop to around 40° for the Snake River Plain. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph. The chance of precipitation is 50%.

For Thursday, there will be some scattered showers, with thunderstorms. High temperatures will reach into the mid 60’s for the Plain. North winds will be around 10-20 mph. The chance of precipitation is 40%

Drier for Friday with mostly sunny skies. High temperatures will reach the lower 70’s.
