Teton County health officials encourage flu vaccine
Teton County, Wyoming health officials are encouraging the community to get vaccinated for flu.
In an effort to help, the Teton County Health Department has announced walk-in flu clinics. They will begin September 23 and end on November 15 and will be held every Monday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 460 Pearl Avenue in Jackson.
The clinics will offer quadrivalent vaccine that is free of mercury and preservatives. The vaccine provides protection against four strains of flu virus. There is also a high-dose vaccine for adults ages 65, plus.
The department says most insurances will be accepted for payment as well as cash, checks or credit cards. If the Health Department charges your insurance company for your flu shot and your insurance plan does not cover flu shots you will be responsible for the paying the bill, which would include $25 for the flu shot and $20 for an administrative fee.
