Authorities, dogs make progress after triple murder
The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office has some leads in last week’s triple killing in Holbrook.
According to a news release, Oneida County authorities are working with their counterparts in Box Elder County, Utah. A search warrant was served at a home Thursday evening in Box Elder County. No arrests were made. The sheriff said no information will be released as to whether or not any evidence connected with the murders was found during the search.
Killed on April 4 were Yavette Chivon Carter, Brent L. Christensen and Trent Jon Christensen. Two children, one 2 years old and the other 2 months old, were found near the body of Carter, their mother, and are safe and with family.
In addition, more than 60 dogs were found in poor condition at the home, which the sheriff said housed pit bull fighting and marijuana grow operations.
All of the pit bulls have had their medical evaluations.
The Idaho Humane Society in Boise said the animals are getting used to their new environment and many of them are “surprisingly very playful.”
