Sculptor’s impact goes nationwide

A local artist is making some waves in other parts of the country. David Anderson has been a sculptor for most of his life and is now getting a lot of attention from Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

He made an eagle sculpture for the University of Southern Mississippi. It is four times the size of a real eagle, but his influence has become even bigger.

He is making a piece of art for a local man who died. He spent almost his whole lifetime in a wheelchair, so Anderson thought he would give the family the chance to see their loved one walk into the afterlife.

Anderson says his inspiration is the beauty of Idaho.

“I guess I’m lucky enough to live in area that when it comes to wildlife, where else can a person be born,” he said.

Anderson said he hopes to allow other states to see the beauty Idaho has to offer. He said that he is happy to get an opportunity to do something so monumental, on such a large scale.
