Volunteers help move Ethel Boyes Elementary in Idaho Falls

Working tirelessly through the morning, volunteers emptied the old Ethel Boyes Elementary School on Brentwood Drive in Idaho Falls.

“We’re moving all the tables and desks and chairs, and we’re moving quite a few boxes from the old Ethel Boyes to the new one,” said Braden Hansen, a volunteer.

For first-grade teacher Eileen Bird, the move means saying goodbye to a classroom she’s called home for years.

“It’s been home for a long time, so, yeah, but the new one’s–you know how it is moving into a new house. It’s always wonderful,” Bird said.

The new school has many amenities that old one lacks, including larger classrooms and a brand-new media center.
