House fire kills 2 children in Twin Falls

Two children have died in a house fire that erupted in a south-central Idaho mobile home park.

The Times-News reports that one girl escaped with minor injuries from the Twin Falls mobile home Monday evening, but two young boys did not. The three children were the only ones in the home.

KMVT reported the boys were Kayden Green, 4, and Damion Green, 1. The child who survived the fire was 3.

“I was watching TV, and my neighbor pounded on my door and she screamed that the trailer was on fire and we sprinted over to see what we could do,” said the manager of the mobile home park, who identified himself as Gary to KMVT. “The mom of the children (who was in the mobile home park but not the trailer) was screaming that her babies were inside, so I tried to break the windows out to get in there. There were probably six or seven of us trying to accomplish this.”

Twin Falls city spokesman Joshua Palmer says the trailer was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

He added that firefighters removed the boys from the trailer and took them to a local hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Palmer says firefighters who arrived on the scene were sent home early because they were shaken up over what happened.
