Man dies after train hits pickup

The driver of a pickup died Wednesday after his vehicle was hit by a train north of Shelley just after 10:00 a.m.

A house supervisor at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center confirmed Wednesday night, Jonathon Adamson died due to injuries suffered in the crash.

Adamson was struck by a freight train when he attempted to cross the railroad tracks at 1450 North. Witnesses told us the pickup was pushed about three-quarters of a mile before the train came to a stop.

Friends of the Adamson family have established an account at any Wells Fargo bank to help the family meet funeral expenses.
