Menan man arrested for enticing children
Jefferson County Sheriff’s office has arrested 70 year-old Charles Day from Menan on charges of enticing children over the internet or other communication device.
In November the sheriff’s office received a report alleging Day had solicited sexual contact with a juvenile in the Roberts area. With the help of that victim and their family the detective conducted a undercover online investigation. The sheriff’s office used social media, texts and phone calls to pursue the investigation. The detectives were able to quickly gather enough evidence to charge Day with the crime.
Sheriff Steve Anderson would like to thank the victim and their family for their cooperation. He says without their help, this individual may still be out in the community potentially victimizing others.
