Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park is seeking more volunteer help

Leadership for the the Idaho Falls Zoo at Tautphaus Park say they are in need of volunteers.

Education coordinator Sunny Katseanes says they are looking for 30 volunteers.

“They will help out in our children’s zoo, help out with education programs,” says Katseanes. “And also help perform in our encounter show that we have here daily between Memorial Day and Labor Day.”

You can contact Zoo’s education department at (208) 612-8418 or zooeducation@idahofallszoo.org to volunteer.

The zoo will officially open for the year on April 9th.

Prior to the year’s official opening, the zoo will be holding a mini camp during spring break coming March 21st through the 24th.

Children, ages 5 to 12, will be able to spend spring break learning about how the exotic animals that live at the zoo are both similar and different from animals found in Idaho.

They will have the chance to explore the first exotic animals to come to the Idaho Falls Zoo and how the zoo makes these non-natives feel at home.

The zoo says space for the spring break camp is limited so call (208) 612-8418 or visit this website to sign up.
