High school musicians prepare to sing with big-time performers
Can you imagine what a thrill it would be to be in a high school choir and get to be the backup singers for a famous musical group?
That’s exactly the opportunity musicians at Madison High School will be getting next week when the Dutton Family comes to perform there.
Choir director — David Hinck is giving them some pointers on finding the right notes. Hinck is the director of Madison Presents and explains what it’s all about.
“It’s to provide an opportunity for our students to perform next to world class performers. We had a great experience last year with our inaugural event with George Dyer, and now bringing in the Duttons this year is exciting for us to be able to do that,” Hinck said.
The Dutton Family is one of the most popular acts at Branson Missouri. Students are excited to sing with a musical group of that caliber.
“Well, I’m really excited because I looked them up on YouTube and and seen what they’ve done and I just find it incredible, because I like being musical, so when I see what they’ve done I’m so excited to meet them in person, because I know recordings are never as good as the real thing.” Laramie Kimball said.
Madison Presents is made possible by generous community sponsors – both individuals and businesses.
“Every dollar that is going in from ticket sales from this concert is going directly to help fund our students and programs here,” Hinck said.
The show is Tuesday evening, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the Madison High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets are available at msd.321.com or at the door. Cost is $10.
