Multiple car accident caused after driver swerved to avoid animal
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says a multiple car accident Wednesday morning started after a driver swerved to avoid an animal on Highway 20.
At just before 7 a.m. deputies responded to a rollover accident located at milepost 320 on Highway 20. According to deputies, a 2012 Hyundai owned by Mitchell Workman was traveling southbound when it swerved to avoid an animal causing the vehicle to overturn through the median and coming to a stop in northbound lanes. Neal Ard was traveling north in a 2008 Impala and while trying to avoid the Hyundai was hit from behind by a 2005 Ford explorer owned and operated by Ambrosio Artega. This caused Ard’s vehicle to collide with a 2007 Pontiac operated by Colton Smith.
No one was injured in the crash and no one taken to the hospital. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Rigby Police Department, Idaho State Police and Central QRU.
