Heavy mountain snow this weekend

Another cold front, this one much stronger, will arrive over the weekend with very gusty winds and scattered rain/snow showers. The mountains should receive plenty of snow with this weekend storm. Heavy snow in elevations above 7,000 feet and moderate snow above 6,000 feet. The Snake River plain will see some snow Sunday, 1 to 3 inches in some locations.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with highs around 40°, scattered snow/rain showers with little accumulation for the Plain. Very windy with sustained winds between 20-40 mph. Saturday night, look for increasing snow showers lows around the upper 30’s. With more gusty winds.

Sunday: A 70% chance of snow, with highs into the upper 30’s. Breezy. Light accumulations expected for the plain, with several inches for the mountains. Very windy.

Monday, A 30% chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 30°.
