TORONTO (AP) — Indigenous leaders have met with Canadian bishops and were told that Pope Francis won’t add more stops to his trip to Canada, when he will apologize in person for abuse suffered by Indigenous people at the hands of the Catholic church. The pope will head to Canada on July 24 and visit Alberta, Quebec and a small town in the far north. The Indigenous leaders had asked for more stops. But Francis is 85 and has been using a wheelchair because of a bad knee.
