Warning: Area canals beginning to fill

Area canals are beginning to fill.

KIDK Eyewitness News 3 anchor Todd Kunz was out Wednesday morning and noticed a previously dry irrigation canal now has water running in it. The canal was dry just days ago.

Be very cautious around the canals. The water is cold and murky and can fill the canals quickly. Plus, the first water in the spring will usually be pushing debris downstream. This can add to the danger.

So farmers and water managers ask that you stay away from the canals, especially kids.
