Search and Rescue practices swift water rescue

Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office’s Search and Rescue dove right into action today.

The dive team practiced swift water rescue today on the Snake River. Divers moved down the moving water as other divers practiced using rope bags to help bring the other one to safety.

They say with all of the water in our state and area it’s pivotal for these divers to get practice

“Our divers need to have constant training on this, especially with the change in water levels. So they’re working at all different paces and all different types of swift water so their training is up to par when the accident does happen or the accident occurs and somebody ends up in this water they can get out and get this rescue completed,” says Sgt. Chris Smith.
