Steamboat Geyser erupts for ninth time

The Steamboat Geyser in Yellowstone National Park erupted for the ninth time on Monday.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the geyser erupted at 1:06 a.m.

Scientists do not know how long the eruption will last.

USGS said the geyser has decided to follow a semi-regular pattern of erupting every 6-8 days over the past two months.

Prior to Monday’s eruption, the most recent activity was on June 4.
