Cool rain!

Pocatello’s Fire and Police departments have announced plans for three scheduled “Cool Rain in the Park” events this summer.

During the events, firefighters station an engine in the park then turn on the hoses, giving people a chance to cool off in the simulated rain.

Officers are also on hand to talk to children about such things as bullying, smoke alarms, and home escape plans.

The first “cool rain” event is set for June 19 at Raymond Park. Others are set Thursday, July 26 at Alameda Park and August 2 at Caldwell Park. All of them will begin at noon and last about half an hour.

They’re all dependent on weather and emergency calls.
