Crash causes traffic congestion on I-15
UPDATE: 3:15 P.M.
Traffic on Interstate 15 near was blocked for 1.5 hours Wednesday afternoon after a southbound crash at milepost 98, north of Blackfoot.
Idaho State Police say Debra Montgomery, 61, of Tremonton, Utah was stopped in traffic at around 12:07 p.m. in the southbound lane of I-15 in a 2012 Toyota Sienna minivan. Lyndsey Mower, 20, of San Antonio, Texas was driving a 2007 Toyota Avalon. Officers said Mower’s vehicle struck the rear of the minivan. The van then struck the rear of a 1997 Chevy 1500 driven by William Johnson, 33, of Blackfoot.
Mower was transported to Bingham Memorial Hospital. All of the drivers were wearing seatbelts.
UPDATE 2:20 p.m. Idaho State Police said the crash is now cleared on I-15 at the Rose Interchange.
Officials say traffic is still backed up but is slowing starting to move.
Heavy traffic is expected Wednesday due to holiday travel.

Idaho State Police reports traffic is still backed up southbound on Interstate 15 through the Blackfoot Rest Area due to an injury crash at milepost 98, the Rose Firth Interchange.
ISP says traffic is backed up for at least 5 miles.
Construction is occurring in that area and speed limits have been reduced in the area.
The Idaho Transportation Department reports the roadway has been reduced to one lane, and the left lane in blocked.
ISP tweeted, “Obey traffic signs and drive defensively.”
Officials say to expect delays.
