Fluor Idaho launches voluntary separation program
Idaho cleanup project contractor Fluor Idaho, LLC has launched a Targeted Voluntary Separation Program.
The program launched Thursday. It will accept a maximum of 50 volunteers from its total workforce of 1,600 employees. Those accepted will leave the job on February 18.
The program is the first alignment by Fluor Idaho since taking over the Idaho Cleanup Core contract on June 1, 2016. The company said there would be no follow-on involuntary reduction tied to the action.
The separation program will allow the company to make necessary skill realignments within several work groups. Fluor Idaho said the action was not driven by funding or by a head count.
The program does not include individuals performing work in support of the Advanced Mixed Waste Treatment Project. Work at that project will continue into 2019.
