Down hill skier rescued from Two Top
A downhill skier is safe after Fremont County Search and Rescue team members found him in a creek drainage late Monday night.
The 20-year-old skier from Bozeman, Montana and a friend were taking turns skiing on Two Top Mountain. His friend dropped off the skier at the top of the hill by snowmobile at around 3:30 p.m. and went to the bottom of the hill to wait for him. The skier took a wrong turn and ended up in a creek drainage.
When the skier didn’t show up, his friend maintained phone contact until his phone went dead. The skier called 911 for help at around 5:30 p.m. while his friend drove to West Yellowstone to get his pickup and recharge his phone.
Fremont County Search and Rescue sent eight searchers to find the man. A team of snow-shoers finally contacted the main at 9:18 p.m. and got him back to base-camp about two hours later.
