Gagner steps down from Idaho Transportation Board
A fixture on the Idaho Transportation Board, Lee Gagner, 77, of Idaho Falls has stepped down as District Six representative to the Idaho Transportation Board.
Gagner was reappointed by Governor Butch Otter in 2008 and reappointed in 2014.
Before that, Gagner served four terms in the Idaho House of Representatives, representing District 33 from 1997 through 2004.
The Idaho Transportation Department said Gagner played a critical part in several key developments in the region, including:
– Rebuilding US-20 and removing several at-grade intersections, replacing them with much safer interchanges
– Completing Pancheri Overpass in Idaho Falls in just one construction season
– Initiating the PEL (Planning and Environmental Linkage) study for the
I-15/US-20 connector
– D6’s innovative 3D modeling
– D6’s innovative contracting, which resulted in the 6-5-4 project and $4.7M in taxpayer savings
“Lee has great relationships with the legislators in the area,” said D6 Engineering Manager Karen Hiatt. “He was a great supporter of the employees, appreciating all the hard work done at the frontlines. He has been a great friend and leader to the team of District 6 and will be greatly missed.”
