Pocatello Animal Services offering half off dog licenses
Each May, Pocatello Animal Services offer residents a chance to get their dog licenses half off.
The promotion encourages dog owners to get their dogs licensed, which is a requirement in the City of Pocatello.
Volunteer coordinator Shaila McGuire said this makes it easier to return lost pets.
“The program that we use, if we have the tag, all we have to do is enter it in and it pulls up all the dog’s information and the owner’s information so we can call them and it makes the owners feel a lot better,” McGuire explained.
“They know where their dog is and we know how to get a hold of them.”
McGuire says the tag is a lifesaver and helps animal services reunite pets and their owners nearly three times a week.
The half off prices are $10 if your dog is unfixed and $5 if they are fixed. If you are over the age of 60, unfixed licenses are $9 and fixed licenses are $2.50.
The deal runs the entire month of May.
