2 East Idaho cities to join cannabis rallies

Three Idaho cities will participate in the 20th anniversary Global Marijuana March Saturday.

Idaho Falls and Pocatello will join Boise in rallies in support of the “cannabis culture.” The march is associated with themed events around the world, including marches, rallies, raves, concerts, festivals and educational outreach. According to the group, there are 991 cities in 83 nations participating.

In Idaho, this year, the march will focus on a petition aimed at legalizing medical marijuana in the Gem State.

In Idaho Falls, the march is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on the Greenbelt. A short march to the Bonneville County Courthouse will start at 4 p.m.

In Pocatello, a rally is planned from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the federal courthouse.
