Idaho Lottery director guarantees two $1,000,000 winning tickets to be sold in Idaho
BOISE, Idaho (KIFI) – This October, the Idaho Lottery is offering players something much more definitive.
“I personally guarantee the odds to win one million dollars is better than ever and the Idaho Lottery will sell two winning tickets worth $1,000,000 each,” Idaho Lottery Director Jeff Anderson said.
This announcement came on the eve of the Idaho Lottery launching the 17th edition of the annual Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle. The director's announcement was made as part of major game changes to the popular game that has become synonymous with the holiday season.
Last year’s Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle game sold out in just 22 days, ending on Nov. 12, 2022 – the earliest in the history of the game. Many players asked the Lottery for a second raffle. The Lottery listened and responded with a new look to the classic game.
This year, the Idaho Lottery’s favorite holiday game will feature more tickets (450,000 of the $10 tickets) and two, one-million-dollar prizes. Tickets for the popular game go on sale Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023, at 4 a.m. Mountain Time. Once the tickets are gone, they’re gone.
“Idahoans love playing Idaho-only games. We responded to our players’ by offering another one-million-dollar prize and better odds to win it. We increased the total number of prizes and made more tickets available for purchase so everyone has the opportunity to participate,” Anderson said. “We remind everyone to have fun but to get their tickets early because it will sell out. Remember, just one ticket is all it takes to win."
Besides the two guaranteed top prizes of $1,000,000, there are more than 17,800 additional prizes ranging from $15 up to $10,000. The Raffle features 15 daily, $1,000 winners drawn during the first 15 days of sales chosen at random from the previous day’s sales. The game also features 18, $1,000 prizes for players who purchase one of the eighteen 25000th tickets.
Players who win one of the 18 25000th tickets or one of the first 15 days’ $1,000 prizes must claim their prize at the Idaho Lottery offices in Boise. Their ticket will also remain eligible to win additional prizes in the Raffle, including the $1,000,000 top prizes.
Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle tickets will remain on sale until Dec. 26, 2023, at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time or until ticket 450,000 is sold.
“The Idaho $1,000,000 Raffle has produced one Idaho Lottery millionaire every year for the last sixteen years. This year, we will have two, one million dollar winning tickets, guaranteed,” Anderson said.
