Man Robbed At Gunpoint At Pocatello Fred Meyer
A Pocatello man was confronted and robbed at gunpoint by two men in the Fred Meyer parking lot at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, said Lt. Paul Manning. A reporter at the scene described the victim as an older man with gray hair and a cane.
Police said the victim was about to get out of his truck in the parking lot when the heavier built man got into the truck and pointed a gun at the victim. The suspect yelled at the victim and told him to hand over all of his stuff. The suspect took the victim’s cellphone and prescription medication.
The suspect got out of the truck and into a car and drove off. The victim tried to follow them on foot before going into the Fred Meyer to tell them what happened.
Pocatello Police Sgt. Jim McCoy said they are looking for two black men in their mid-40’s. One man had a heavier build with a shaved head and both arms and neck covered in tattoos. Another man with a medium build has some facial hair.
The car they were driving is described as a dark-colored or black Dodge Stratus, and the two took off north through the Fred Meyer parking lot and could be headed north on Yellowstone Avenue, Manning said.
Police are trying to use surveillance video from nearby businesses to gain more information and they are investigating several vehicles that match the description around town, Manning said.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Pocatello police dispatch at 208-234-6100.
