Powerball Tickets Will Soon Cost You More
Paying for a chance to win big will soon be going up for some lottery fans.
Lottery officials say the price of tickets for the Powerball jackpot will double to $2 starting Jan. 15. The starting Powerball jackpot will also double, from $20 million to $40 million, but officials are reducing the number of red Powerballs, thereby dropping your odds of scoring the big win.
To compensate, the second prize win, for matching five white balls without the Powerball, will increase from $200,000 to $1 million.
