Fish and Game Says Wolf Hunting On Track
Wolf hunting by permit in Idaho began in August, and wildlife managers say it’s going according to plan.
About 30 permits were issued in the Island Park region, and nine wolves have been killed.
Local hunting zones are now closed, but there are many more still open statewide.
Fish and Game says the agency is where it needs to be.
“There are still 11 other zones in the state that are open, we believe we’re on track and that we have responsible wolf management going on right now,” said Gregg Losinski of the Fish and Game.
Wolf hunting in those remaining regions will continue through the rest of the winter.
