New CEO Of Madison Memorial Hospital Projects Bright Future
Madison Memorial Hospital has appointed a new CEO, who says that the transition has been ?natural? since Friday?s announcement.
?I believe that you need to maintain your integrity at all costs, and that you are only as good as those around you,” said the newly-appointed CEO, Rachel Gonzales.
Those words serve as Gonzales’ mantra, and it shows.
As Gonzales strolls around the hospital, the employees are in good spirits and happy to see her. A former nurse herself, Gonzales attributes the visibly high employee morale to the hospital’s success since she became interim CEO last year.
?Our employees needed the opportunity to be heard,? she said. ?If you’re a nurse on the floor, it helps to be able to have a leader to respond, hear any of the issues and concerns, suggestions that you have. And if we truly listen and respond to those needs, an employee can be more satisfied where they work.”
Not long after news of Gonzales’s appointment went up on our website a viewer commented: “She deserves it! She’s done a fabulous job. She’s picked up the staff’s morale up off the floor and made the hospital a fun place to work again! Congratulations Rachel!”
“It’s a good team effort,” Gonzales said.
She believes the team effort will carry Madison Memorial to a prosperous future.
?We were projecting a multimillion-dollar loss, and now we’re projecting to be well in the black,? Gonzales said.
Gonzales denies rumors that she listened to recordings of interviews with other CEO candidates to prepare for her own interview, saying she kept her distance during the interview process and spent much of that time with her family.
David Rowe was the former CEO of Madison Memorial Hospital. He resigned last May to pursue other employment opportunities.
