ISP Arrest 2 In Costco Lot After Standoff
A standoff in the Pocatello Costco parking lot led to the arrest of a man and woman who police said would not come out of a van.
Idaho State Police got a tip about the silver and green van at about 3:30 p.m. and pulled the van over in the Costco parking lot in Pocatello.
Inside were Tiffany Vining, 37, of Pocatello, who was wanted on a probation violation warrant and a felony warrant for possession of methamphetamine, and Steven Converse-Laxton, 21, of Pocatello, who had a misdemeanor warrant out for his arrest for failure to appear in court.
Police said they eventually were able to get both out of the van, Converse-Laxton more easily than Vining. They had to bring in a Pocatello police negotiator, who worked with some family members who showed up at the scene.
Both were taken to the Bannock County Jail.
After searching the van, officers said they found drugs and paraphernalia inside. Vining and Converse will be charged appropriately, though those charges have not been determined yet, police said.
