Fremont County Boy Killed With Gun Identified
The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of the boy killed in a shooting accident.
The sheriff’s office said the 14-year-old boy was William Rees.
Deputies and rescuers responded Saturday evening to a call in the Teton/Newdale area following reports of a boy shot in the abdomen. They said Monday the wound was self-inflicted.
Rees was handling the firearm while his grandfather was checking on something, and it went off.
The boy was rushed to the Rexburg Airport before being airlifted to the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
