Marriott open for business in Idaho Falls
A project that’s been years in the making has finally come to completion after going through some financial problems.
The Marriott Residence Inn off Broadway in downtown Idaho Falls opened its doors just hours ago.
The hotel had been sitting vacant for the last four years since the recession hit in 2008, but now it’s open for reservations.
More than 100 rooms are offered in the five-story hotel, all designed for long-term visitors.
One of the most unique features of the hotel is a full-sized pool with a hot tub designed to seat more than 20 people.
“We’ve had people wanting to get rooms last night, I was working late and people were trying to get in the door,” said Bjoern Jaeger, general manager. “So we’re excited to get all of those people in-house and get them all taken care of.”
The Marriott Residence Inn is only one of two hotels in the Idaho Falls area designed for extended stay guests.
