1 crash leads to another on I-15

Two crashes occurred between Fort Hall and Blackfoot on Interstate 15 on Monday afternoon.

Around 3:17 p.m., Heather Tripp, 29, of Blackfoot, was driving a 2000 Ford Focus north in the left lane. A vehicle in the right lane moved into the left lane and forced Tripp off the road into the median, where her car rolled, Idaho State Police said.

Tripp was wearing a seatbelt. She was transported by ground ambulance to Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.

In the second accident, Taylor Putnam, 22, of Pocatello, was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Blazer north on I-15, passing the first crash. Traffic had slowed. Putnam swerved off the road, into the median, to avoid striking the vehicle in front of him. Putnam’s vehicle rolled and came to rest on its wheels.

Both Putnam and his passenger, Arin Esterbrook, 21, of Pocatello, were wearing seat belts, ISP said. Neither Putnam nor Esterbrook were transported to the hospital.
