Teton County, Wyo., adopts comprehensive plan

Teton County, Wyo., is going to conduct business in a new way.

County leaders have voted to adopt a comprehensive plan.

The goal is four-fold:

– Environmental stewardship
– Economic sustainability
– Build a vibrant community
– Organizational excellence

All this to encourage the government to work as efficiently as possible.

County Administrator Steve Foster said commissioners will aim for all of their decisions to fit within the four statements.

“How we use this is to really frame our decision making – whether its land use decision making, whether it’s finance decisions, whether it’s priorities for projects — and identify what’s important for them to do that year,” said Foster.

County leaders plan to re-evaluate the strategy every year.
