Fire south of Pocatello to be contained Monday

Crews fighting a fire that broke out just before Sunday evening at the base of Scout Mountain hope to have it contained by Monday.

According to a Monday morning update from the Eastern Idaho Intergency Fire Center, the Lead Draw Fire is burning 80 acres o n US Forest Service Lands in Mink Creek. Firefighters and equipment from the Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management and Pocatello Fire Department are fighting the blaze.

A BLM spokesman said no evacuations have taken place, and firefighters do not expect any.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
