Man accused of going on hit-and-run spree

A man in a red Dodge truck rammed several vehicles in the Phil Meador Courtesy Ford car lot at Quinn and Flandro Streets in Pocatello, doing at least $150,000 in damage, police said.And additional damages are still being added up.

Officers responding to the call said they caught the driver as he was attempting to flee the scene at around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.Travis Keith Smith, 48, of Pocatello was arrested on charges of driving under the influence and malicious injury to property.

Smith was also cited for leaving the scene and possession of concealed firearms while intoxicated.

At the time of the incident, police said the same red truck was already being sought for a hit-and-run accident at the Maverik convenience store at 855 E. Alameda around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Police have linked the truck to two hit-and-run collisions, but believe there may be more that have not yet been reported.
