Executive Producer

NPG of Idaho is looking for an Executive Producer who can lead the number one news team in the Idaho Falls/Pocatello market.

The executive producer is someone who has superior news judgment and strong editorial and promotional skills . The executive producer will oversee all aspects of the evening newscast from 5 to 10 pm. This person will lead 6 different newscasts for KIFI Local News 8 and KIDK Eyewitness News. Those who just stack the show, don’t need to apply.

You will work with the area’s best TV journalists who have been in the industry for more than two decades. You will also work with some of the industry’s best equipment, including ENPS, Harris Velocity editing system and three live trucks.

Eastern Idaho and Western Wyoming is an outdoor paradise with Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks just a couple of hours away from our main studios.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to be a future newsroom manager. Candidates should have a four-year degree in communications, journalism or a similar field. They must also have experience in reporting and producing news.

This position will require you to rewrite stories from the AP, ABC, CNN and other regional stations. You will also be expected to come up with story ideas and work with reporters to develop the best ways to present their stories.

You will also be required to write compelling teases for our newscasts and keep our award winning website up-to-date with the latest news. You must also be available to work all shifts, including weekends, overnights and holidays.
