Ammon issues snow proclamation

In advance of an expected storm, Ammon Mayor Steve Fuhriman has issued a snow proclamation order.

The order enacts specific rules governing snow removal and parking. The order will begin at 3 a.m. Saturday and continue through 5 p.m. Thursday, December 26.

The rules forbid parking on any public street between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. on any day to make way for snow removal equipment. Any vehicle in violation may be removed at any time and towed away without prior notice at the owner or operator’s expense. Violators could also face a penalty of up to $100 per offense plus court costs.

According to the proclamation, it is also illegal to move snow from private property onto or across Ammon roads.
