Donations down for Salvation Army
The Salvation Army in Idaho Falls said this year’s donations are down by $14,000 for its Red Kettle Program. You may have seen red kettles outside your local grocery stores during the holiday season. Money dropped in the kettles will go to buy kids toys and Christmas food boxes.
“We need to pay for some of the food and stuff we give out for our Christmas program and not only that but year-round as well, so donations are really important to the Salvation Army,” said Core Officer James Halverson.
Donations after the holidays will help local people pay for rent, utilities and food.
You can donate to the Salvation Army location on 605 North Boulevard in Idaho Falls. You can also send checks to P.O. Box 50105, Idaho Falls, ID 83405.
Of the donations, 100 percent will be used to help people in Idaho Falls.
