Train collides with car near Pocatello

One man was taken to the hospital after his car collided with a train west of Inkom Thursday night.

The accident happened at Blackrock Rd and Old Highway 91.

Idaho State Police say around 7 p.m., Ryan Lish, 21, of Downey, was traveling north in a 1989 Honda Accord when he collided with a Union Pacific train.

Lish was transported to Portneuf Medical Center by ground ambulance.

As of Friday morning, Lish was listed in critical condition. There is no word on what caused his car to collide with the moving train.

Idaho State Police is still investigating.
