Teton Sheriff hit by car he was chasing

The Teton County Sheriff is recovering from minor injuries when he was hit by a car.

It happened Friday a little before 6 p.m on North Main Street in Driggs.

Deputies said Danielle Rorabaugh was driving a white Subaru and hit a pedestrian.She then headed southbound on Highway 33.

Deputies later found the car, but they said she didn’t stop for them either.

At that point, they noticed a child was in the backseat of the car.

Deputies said Sheriff Tony Liford got out his car ordering Rorabaugh to stop.That’s when she allegedly sped up and struck the sheriff.

The driver then returned to the scene of the hit-and-run, stopping on a nearby neighbor’s lawn.

Rorabaugh was taken into custody.

The child wasn’t hurtand was taken into protective custody.
