Emergency disaster drill held at I.F. airport

Emergency vehicles, Air Idaho and smoke were the sights at Idaho Falls Regional Airport Wednesday morning. It was only a drill.

The Federal Aviation Administration requires IFRA to test its Airport Emergency Plan every three years. The drill involved a live fire simulation and 40 volunteer “victims” from Dr. Slaughters and the Eastern Idaho Technical College Nursing Program.

The exercise began with the “disaster” at IFRA and then victims were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. EIRMC also is required to test emergency plans annually.
