Prop One recount ordered June 27

The Idaho Attorney General’s office has ordered a recount of all ballots cast during the May 20 election for Proposition One/Pocatello Ordinance 2921. It is better known as the “non-discrimination” ordinance.

The recount will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 27 at the Bannock County Courthouse in Judge Nye’s courtroom.

Election recount judges will be selected from the election judges who served in the 2014 primary election. One representative of those for and against the initiative will be designated to observe the recount.

Last week, the Idaho Attorney General’s office ordered all the ballots impounded and held by the Bannock County Sheriff.

Approximately ten thousand ballots will be recounted, including about 500 that will require a hand-count
