Summer art classes offered to children

If you are looking for things for the kids to do this summer, you may want to sign up for the Idaho Falls Arts Council classes sooner rather than later.

Wednesday’s class was sold out, and there was room for 50 kids ages 5 to 9.

The kids learned to make trash bag sculptures, which came to life from a fan.

The instructor, Daniel Borup, is a local artist who also teaches high school, and he said these summer classes are a blast.

“Kids are awesome because they are confident, and they don’t hold back at all,” said Borup. “They are creative, and if you ask them to do something, they are excited and they just do it.”

The classes are each Wednesday through the end of july from noon to 1 p.m.

The cost is $3 per class, and they are held at the Willard Arts Center.
