Portneuf Medical Center climbs the ranks

The Portneuf Medical Center is seeing a jump in the rankings after U.S. News and World Report just deemed the hospital as the best hospital in eastern Idaho and the fourth best in the state.

Portneuf C.E.O. Dan Ordyna said the hospital was ranked in a few areas, including: specialty care, patient quality care, services and technology offered to patients, and the patient survival rate.

He said the good rankings should prove to be comforting to those who use the hospital, but hopes to see the hospital keep rising to the top in the future.

“There is peace of mind when people know that we are not just some little, small-town hospital, but that they can get world-class care here,” Ordyna said.

He added, there are 1,300 employees at the hospital and wants to acknowledge all of their hard work to have made this good news possible.

He said the urology program is one of the most notable specialty programs under PMC, which has risen to the top and received nationwide accolades as well.
