Woman arrested after gun fired in bedroom

An Idaho Falls woman was arrested after a gun was fired in a house and near a child early Sunday morning.

Police were called to the 1400 block of Johnson around 12:45 a.m. to investigate a gunshot.

Officers said they found Jodi L. Hoehn, 45, a convicted felon, had shot a .45 caliber handgun in a bedroom while she was in the presence of a 5-year-old child.

Hoehn was arrested on suspicion of felon in possession of a firearm. Although the child wasn’t hurt, because of the circumstances of the incident, she also faces a charge of felony injury to a child. She was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

Further information was not released.
