Police chase ends in crash

A police chase in Pocatello ended in a crash late Tuesday night.

Bannock County deputies were pursuing Bret Charlton, 52, of Pocatello, who was driving south in a 1994 Ford Explorer down Franklin Avenue. Charlton didn’t stop at the stop sign at the intersection of East Poplar Street, Idaho State Police said.

Charlton’s Explorer then collided with a 2001 Dodge Dakota driven by Ryan Larsen, 26, of Pocatello. The Explorer then overturned and hit two unoccupied parked vehicles.

Both Charlton and Larsen were taken to Portneuf Medical Center.

Criminal charges have not been filed yet.
