State Fair managers monitor high winds

Eastern Idaho State Fair officials are keeping a close eye on the weather. Winds gusting to 30 miles per hour could pose problems for some popular rides.

Fair Manager Brandon Bird said, “most carnival rides are perfect for withstanding high winds. We thought we’d have to shut the two tall ones down.”

The Ferris wheel and the Fireball can be affected by winds in excess of 30 miles per hour.

So far, none of the rides has had to be shut down because of windy weather.
