Two children were killed in a traffic accident in Pocatello that resulted in severe injuries for others in a car, police said Thursday.

It happened at the corner of Garrett Way and Cedar before 5 p.m. Wednesday when when a passenger car was T-boned by a tree-trimming truck driven by a 22-year-old man.

Dallas Christiansen, 4, was pronounced dead at the crash, and Jeric Christiansen, 7, was pronounced dead at Portneuf Medical Center, police said.

Brittany Christiansen, 25, the driver of the car, and Justin Christiansen, 16 months, were hurt in the wreck and were taken to PMC.

Pocatello and state police are working to reconstruct the accident, and it could take several weeks before the investigation is complete.

Emergency crews released the following statement Thursday:

“Pocatello police and Pocatello fire (departments) wish to express their condolences to the Christiansen family. The police, fire and EMS first responders did an excellent job under very difficult circumstances and express their deepest sympathy to the family.”

A GoFundMe account has been set up for the family here.
