County warns of voting registration scam

Teton County, Wyoming, election officials are warning the public about scammers going door to door asking for personal information under the guise of a voter registration drive.

The county said Thursday it follows Wyoming law and doesn’t conduct voter registration drives of any kind.

“My staff doesn’t go door to door to register people to vote,” said Teton County Clerk Sherry Daigle. “In order to register to vote, you must come to the Teton County … Elections Office, or you may register to vote at your polling site on Election Day.”

Folks are reminded to never provide their personal information to anyone they do not know and trust. If you have been contacted by anyone who claims to be conducting a voter registration drive, contact the elections office at (307) 733-4430.
