Mountain lion spotted near temple
A Rexburg woman told police she thought she saw a mountain lion walking down the street near the LDS temple on Seventh South.
The woman said she saw the cat, which was about the height of her mid-thigh, at around midnight Wednesday, but she didn’t report it to police until 11 hours later Thursday.
A police search of the area turned up no sign of the beast.
Officers encouraged the woman to call earlier next time.
Police said is not unusual to see mountain lions in the Rexburg Bench area near the temple.
